Privacy Policy
Effective October 24, 2026
The short version
- We collect what you give Power and what you choose to connect, and use it to build and adapt your plan.
- We never sell your data and we do not show ads.
- Health data from Apple Health, Strava or Garmin is never used for advertising or shared for marketing.
- You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings in the app.
1. Who we are
Power (“Power”, “we”, “us”) is an AI fitness coaching app operated by TrueMatter, Inc. This policy explains how we collect, use and share information when you use the Power iOS app, the Power Apple Watch app and widgets, and this website (together, the “Service”). TrueMatter, Inc. is the controller of the personal data described here.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive your name and email address (or Apple’s private relay address if you choose to hide it) and an account identifier.
- Profile and goals. Age or date of birth, sex, height, weight, body measurements, training goal, experience level, available equipment, training schedule, sports, and preferences such as units.
- What you log. Workouts, sets, reps and weights, effort ratings, readiness check-ins, meals and foods, supplements, notes, and progress photos.
- Photos you submit. Meal photos you upload to log food, and progress photos you choose to take or upload.
- Coach conversations. Messages you send to the in-app coach and the replies generated for you.
- Support and feedback. What you send us when you email us or use in-app feedback.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device information. Which screens and features you use, app version, device model, operating system, language, time zone, and diagnostic information such as crashes and errors.
- Subscription status. Apple tells us whether you have an active trial or subscription and when it renews. We never receive your payment card details; payments are handled entirely by Apple.
3. Connected health and fitness services
You can choose to connect Power to other services. We only read the data types you authorize, and you can revoke access at any time.
- Apple Health (HealthKit). Depending on what you allow: date of birth, biological sex, height, body weight and body composition, sleep, workouts and their distance, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, active energy, steps, and dietary energy and macronutrients. If you allow it, Power also writes the workouts, meals and body measurements you log back to Apple Health.
- Strava. Your activities and basic athlete profile, after you connect your Strava account.
- Garmin Connect. If you connect your Garmin account: activities, daily activity summaries, sleep, heart rate, stress and body composition data that you authorize Garmin to share with Power.
- Apple Watch. Sessions you run on the Power watch app are synced to your phone and our servers like any other logged workout.
Data from Apple Health, Strava and Garmin is used only to provide and personalize your training, nutrition and recovery plan inside Power. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, we do not share it with data brokers, and we do not disclose it to third parties for marketing. It is shared only with the service providers in section 6 that process it on our behalf to run the Service. Disconnecting a service stops new data from flowing to Power; you can also ask us to delete what was already imported.
4. How we use information
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To generate and adapt your training plan, nutrition targets and recovery recommendations.
- To show your history, progress, records and achievements.
- To provide the AI coach, daily briefs, meal recognition and other AI features (see section 5).
- To send notifications and reminders you have turned on.
- To manage your trial and subscription.
- To understand how the Service is used, fix bugs, and improve features.
- To respond to support requests and keep the Service secure and free of abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on performance of our contract with you (to provide the Service), your consent (for health data and connected services, which you can withdraw at any time), our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), and legal obligations.
5. AI processing
Power uses large language models to write your daily brief, answer coach questions, interpret meals you describe or photograph, and help build your plan. To do this, the relevant parts of your data, such as your profile, goals, recent workouts, nutrition, sleep and recovery data and your message, are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes them on our behalf. Our AI provider is not permitted to use your data to train its models. AI output can be wrong; it is general fitness guidance, not medical advice.
6. Who we share information with
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Render | Application hosting and database |
| Anthropic | AI coaching, meal recognition and plan generation |
| Cloudflare | DNS, website hosting, and delivery of exercise videos and images |
| PostHog | Product analytics and diagnostics |
| Google Workspace | Email for support and account communication |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, subscriptions and payments, Apple Health |
| Google Sign-In | |
| Strava, Garmin | Only when you connect them, to import your data |
These providers may only use your information to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our users or others, and in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
7. Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data from our active systems within 30 days, and from backups within 90 days, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations. Aggregated statistics that cannot identify you may be kept.
8. Your choices and rights
- Delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and associated data.
- Disconnect services. Disconnect Strava or Garmin in Settings, and manage Apple Health access in the iPhone Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health.
- Notifications can be turned off in Settings in the app or on your iPhone.
- Access, correct or export. Most of your data can be viewed and edited in the app. To request a copy of your data or any correction, email us.
Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK, California and other US states, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Email privacy@power.fitness to make a request; we will respond within the time required by law, and may need to verify your identity first. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit with TLS and encrypted at rest by our hosting provider. Sign-in tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain. Access to production systems is limited to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach where the law requires.
10. Children
Power is not directed to children. You must be 16 or older to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16; if you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.
11. International users
Power is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored there and wherever our providers operate. Where we transfer personal data from the EU, UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
